System requirements: IBM PC or compatible, 256 color display or higher, Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT/XP. Hi! You will find 2 files on the enclosed disk/E-mail.... #1) This "install info" file which gives you info on how to install these cursors...and...#2)The cursor files which are in an ".exe" file, named for your breed (ie: scotty.exe, yorkie.exe, sheltie.exe, etc...), that includes the animated cursor (best for the busy or wait cursor), and the "static" cursor (for the regular pointer arrow). Though these instructions may seem long - they simply are broken down into very basic steps - just follow one step at a time and you'll have your new cursors up and "playing" in no time! To install and use your new cursors: FIRST: (If Floppy disk version) Open the floppy disk so you can access the files. (With the disk in the computer, double-click on "My Computer" then double-click on "3 ˝ Floppy (A:)" In the "A" window that now is opened you'll see 2 files: the "install info" and the actual cursor file named for your breed. Now, here we go! (whether floppy disk or e-mail/download version) * Double-click on the cursor .exe file ("your breed's name".exe) to start the install process. That will bring up a window titled "Winzip Self-extractor - "your breed's name".exe" and a small space below that says "C:/Windows/Cursors". Just click the top button that says "Unzip". It will extract the cursor files to your cursor folder by itself. It will then pop up and say "2 file(s) unzipped successfully". You can now complete the installation as below. (NOTE: You may not be able to open this file via other methods - you should double-click on the icon to open it) (Win 2000/NT users NOTE: You will have to modify the folder name the cursors will be unzipped into such as: C:/WINNT/Cursors.) NEXT: * Click on the computer "Start" button (bottom left of your computer screen on the "toolbar"), then go to "settings" then "Control Panel". Click on "control panel" to open the Control Panel window. * Once in the Control Panel window, find and double click on the "Mouse" icon. * Once in the mouse window, look for at tab at the top of this window called "Pointers". * Click on this tab and you will see your current cursors in a window. Select the cursor you want to change to the new dog cursor and highlight it by clicking once on it.(the animated cursor works well as the "wait" and "busy" cursors and the static cursor works well as the "normal select" cursor) * After you have selected and highlighted the cursor you wish to change (click on to highlight) go down to the bottom of this window and select "Browse". This should take you to the default cursor folder (c:\windows\cursors) your new cursors were unzipped to. (if not automatically taken to the cursor folder, navigate to it) * Select (click on to highlight) your new dog cursor and click "open". (they are in alphabetical order) Then click "Apply" and your new cursor is ready to use! If you are changing more than one cursor repeat the above steps and when finished, click "ok" and your new cursors are installed! (I recommend installing the animated cursor for BOTH the "busy" and "working in background" cursors as you will see them a lot more often. Don't worry about losing your current cursor as you can always follow the same steps above and reinstall it if you ever wish to. *Fine Legal Print: By purchasing these cursors you agree that seller is not responsible for incompatibilities between this item and your system, and any product difficulties should be referred to your computer's manufacturer.
